Ron Clark, Founder and Mathematics Teacher
In 2000, he was named Disney's American Teacher of the Year. He is a New York Times bestselling author whose book, The Essential 55, has sold over 1 million copies and has been published in 25 different countries.
He has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, and Oprah, and Ms. Winfrey even named him as her first "Phenomenal Man."
His classes have been honored at the White House on three separate occasions. Ron's teaching experiences in New York City are the subject of the uplifting film, The Ron Clark Story, starring Matthew Perry, better known as Chandler from Friends.
Ron Clark is an American teacher who has worked with disadvantaged students in rural North Carolina and Harlem, New York City. He is known for his books and multiple teaching awards. . Clark's latest project is the Ron Clark Academy, a private non-profit school in Atlanta, Georgia where students follow a unique curriculum. The school also gives students opportunities for international travel and offers training workshops for teachers to learn more about Clark's teaching methods.Clark made a set of rules called the esential55 that he use to teach his students.

I have already known this distinctive teacher because I watched the film "The Ron Clark story" (translated into Spanish as "Unidos para triunfar") three weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteThe movie is interesting due to different aspects. On the one hand, it shows that the role of teachers is very significant in the learning process.
On the other hand, parents should be involved in the education of their children at home. It is a fact that they are a model for their children. The more parents help them, the more children will have a good level of education.
In this way, overcoming the underachievament is possible.

It is incredible the quantity of things that I have leant this year. I had never heard about this man but I think that his job is fantastic and you only have to listen to the good things that children say about him.

It´s first time I hear about this bloke and his methods. He reminds me the Dead poet´s Club. Sometimes it´s better to draw attention of children being a bit different rather than with a very strict discipline. And we have seen the result.
