The topic for Unit 1 is MARRIAGE AND LOVE AFFAIRS
You can read this unit first or you can write right now some lines about your ideas on this subject.
Are there too many clichés about love and marriage?
What do you think ?
What would you like to say?
To break the ice, here you have a couple of funny jokes or anecdotes which probably follow those cliches we all have heard sometimes...
Oh, and don't miss our next post on Valentine´s Day...really involved with love and marriage!
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.
